Can you think of a new Arafat?

James Baker (former US secretary of State - what else?) sure can. This link thru LGF. Baker is the man who said "Fuck the Jews, they don't vote for us anyway". Want more on Baker?
As for Baker's disdain for Israel, Shortly before assuming office as Secretary of State, Baker invited an interviewer from Time magazine to accompany him on a turkey hunt. At one point during the hunt, when he was discussing Israel and the Arabs, Baker remarked: "The trick is in getting them where you want them, on your terms. Then you control the situation, not them. You have the options. Pull the trigger or don't. It doesn't matter once you've got them where you want them. The important thing is knowing that it's in your hands, that you can do whatever you determine is in your interest to do." When the reporter asked Baker if he was referring to the turkeys, Baker replied, "No, I mean Israel."
This same despicable man now has come up with an Arafat-replacement: Convicted mass-murderer Marwan Barghouti. Read between the lines of this BBC profile on this Arab Jewkiller:
The al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade possibly sealed his fate when it issued a statement in 2002 claiming him as their leader.
The group has carried out numerous operations against Israeli soldiers and settlers in the West Bank and Gaza, and suicide attacks on civilians inside Israel.

Barghouti has denied founding al-Aqsa but has hailed some operations by the group, which has also attacked Israeli military targets.
Numerous 'operations'. 'Also' attacked Israeli military targets. That says it all. And what does Baker think of this man?
"There is now. . . . in an Israeli prison a man named Marwan Barghouti, who is one of the young guard of Palestinians," Baker told King last night, speaking about the post–Yasser Arafat era. "And if the Palestinians are going to make this work against the really hard-line elements, the Islamists and some of the people of Hamas, they're going to have to have a coalition of the young guard and the old guard."

Baker continued, "[I]t would be really a very positive step in the right direction if Israel would release Marwan Barghouti so that he could participate in bringing about this transition."
I'll tell you what, Baker. If you release Saddam Hussein, so he can 'participate in bringing about a transition' in Iraq, THEN the Israeli's will follow your (of course well-meant) advice. Until then, stick to making billions the American way!
