US Veto in UN SC

As I predicted they would, the US saved Israel from another outrageously biased SC resolution. It was drafted by the 'Palestinian' representative and sponsored by Algeria (gee, that country usually only pops up when an axe-wielding maniac tries to down an airplane (TRUE STORY!) or something). Anyway,
The vote in the 15-member Security Council was 11 in favor and one against, with Britain, Germany and Romania abstaining.
Eleven in favor. The European countries could not find it in themselves to vote against, despite their objections.
Eleven in favor, and there was 'only' one Arab country on the SC this time.
After the vote, Algeria's U.N. Ambassador Abdallah Baali, the only Arab member of the council, thanked the resolution's supporters and noted that the measure got more than the minimum nine "yes" votes needed for adoption.
How true. And how sad.
