Qassam rockets: Crude but fearsome

Just a bit of info
They are crude, unguided two-metre-long steel weapons filled with explosives, that seldom do much damage but occasionally cause injuries.

They are quick to assemble, quick to launch and they land moments after being fired. Before Israel's forces can respond, the rocketeers have fled the scene.

On two occasions they have proved lethal.
It's true. On two occasions Arab terrorists were successfull in using Qassams to murder Jews. Four fatalities altogether, three of which were little children.

There are also dozens of wounded, something the BBC neglects to mention. Also, the terror of having hundreds and hundreds of these 2 meter (=more than 6 feet) rockets raining on your town is disregarded by the BBC.

Otherwise, the BBC report is accurate. And it should make clear to anyone why the IDF is doing what it's doing now in Gaza. Left unchecked, the Arab terrorists, supported by Egypt, will increase range, power and accuracy of the rockets, and make life hell for Israeli's far beyond the Gaza 'border'.
