UN: Cure worse than the disease
Humanity once invented the League of Nations. It was instituted at the end of WW1, the war to end all wars. World peace was its goal. The beginning of WW2 marked the end of the League of Nations.
Humanity however is a slow learner. The idea of a world government (because that of course is its real goal) was so appealing, the UN was created. It is an even more dismal failure. The case of Israel in the UN makes this all too clear, it shows how an organization that gives equal votes to unequal countries can never work. It proves that dealing in a democratic way with undemocratic countries fosters corruption. And worse. WorldNetDaily has this article:
U.N. 'peacekeepers' rape women, children
With the United Nations already under fire for the Oil-for-Food mega-scandal and other corruption, sensational allegations of rampant sexual exploitation and rape of young girls and women by the U.N.'s so-called "peacekeepers" and civilian staffers in the Congo is dragging the global body's reputation to an all-time low.
A whole list follows, but it isn't nearly an exhaustive one. Just a very sickening one. Read it all, you need to know.
Is insanity a prerequisite for the Nobel peace prize?
I think I'm going to have to refrain from blogging, because it seems more and more people arouse the foulmouth in me. Here's an Irish NPP recipient who (at least it's novel) compares Israel's nukes to Auschwitz's gas chambers. A variation on the theme of "What the Germans did to you, you are now doing to others". Israel gets that a lot but this fucked up Jewhater makes me want to <CENSORED>.
Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mairead Corrigan Maguire on Sunday compared Israel's alleged nuclear arsenal to Hitler's gas chambers and called on Israel to lift travel restrictions on nuclear whistle-blower Mordechai Vanunu.
"When I think about nuclear weapons, I've been to Auschwitz concentration camp," Maguire said during a joint press conference with Vanunu in Jerusalem.
"Nuclear weapons are only gas chambers perfected... and for a people who know what gas chambers are, how can you even think of building perfect gas chambers?"
What an atrocity of a human being. Well, she's definitely on a par with Arafat and Carter. At least Arafat did us all the favour of dying in an embarassing fashion.
At least she's pretty. My truck would have to treated for Post Traumatic Stress syndrome after running over her. Sheez.
Charles Johnson, who runs LittleGreenFootballs (AKA LGF), has this to say about Rachel Corrie, her parents and Yasser Arafat. And I laughed for 20 minutes after reading it.
PS: Also check the photoshopped images. They made me laugh another solid 15.
Swedish children get kidnapped by 'Palestinian' father, and what follows is so ridiculous it beggars belief:
Commenting on the case, the Swedish Foreign Office noted that the situation is highly sensitive since the children have dual nationality - Swedish and Palestinian - and that according to Palestinian law, the children are the wards of their father.
This is a remarkable point of view on several accounts. Firstly, because Swedish law applies to Swedish citizens, the more so since they were kidnapped from Sweden. No other legislation is relevant until the children have been returned home. The father is in breach of Swedish law, for a crime committed in Sweden.
The second consideration is the illogic of the Foreign Office's standpoint: the children do not - and in point of law can not - have dual nationality. There is no country called Palestine. While the emergence of such a country may well be a highly desirable goal for reasons of geopolitical interest, Palestine does not today exist. The children therefore do not have dual nationality, and Sweden accordingly need take no such consideration into account.
"Citizens, Yet "Stateless": A Matter of Expediency
What is even more remarkable about Sweden's claim that the children are citizens of a country called Palestine, is that Sweden at the same time provides asylum to countless Palestinians as "stateless refugees". They are apparently both stateless and nationals - depending on the political niceties at stake.
I was not surprised at the level of official recognitioon Sweden awards the Arabs who call themselves 'Palestinians', but through the UN, many countries do much the same! It is a very insidious move, and all the harder therefore to counter. How can you deny something is a country if it has its own Top Level Internet domain? If it has its own international telephone extension?
Israel officially exists, but in all other respects, it is being denied. 'Palestine' does not exist, but in every way that matters, the UN has already recognized 'Palestine'. Wonder if the one is somehow connected to the other?
Arabs fire 'home-made' rockets on Sderot. 8 people are wounded. No one was killed, but that is only a matter of time. People were killed before. Today, IsraelNationalNews reports:
As the government prepares to quit Gaza – with no clarity as to how it will guarantee the safety of the Kassam-beleaguered western Negev – 11 Kassam rockets landed in Sderot yesterday and today.
Short recap: Sderot is a village in the Negev desert, close to Gaza. It is located in 'Israel proper' therefore. Kassams are rockets that cannot be aimed with anymore accuracy than a firecracker, but as can be seen from the link above, if evil chance so decided, it is plenty lethal. It's only purpose however is to kill at random, and to make people afraid. A terrorists' weapon is ever there was one.
It's been relatively quiet after the IDF went into Gaza following the murder of the two boys. But it's all so horribly predictable, and predicted. These Arabs don't learn. They fired 11 rockets and managed not to kill anyone. The Jews won't be so lucky next time. After which they risk the precious lives of soldiers going after the psychopaths. When they should be carpetbombing the place, and make them beg Israel to stop, and promise to be good from then on.
We search the purses of little old ladies so that recent immigrants from Saudi Arabia named "Mohammed" wearing massive backpacks don't get singled out.
