First Germany, now the UK
I wrote recently about the giving of "Islamic instruction" in Germany. Great-Britain can't wait to follow suit:
STOCKPORT schoolchildren will be the first in the country to take part in a project to breed multi-racial harmony.
Although it is a nationwide project Stockport was chosen for the launch after becoming the first area to use the resource packs.
Councillor John Pantall, executive member for diversity strategy, said: "If we can get to pupils at an early age we hope they can grow up understanding other cultures and religions and without prejudice".
So they will either convert at some point in their life, or accept Dhimmitude so much easier.
Indonesia market bombs kill 20 heads CNN. True to the CNN standard, it takes forever to find out who the suspects are, but in this case, the suspects are the usual ones:
Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim nation, but central Sulawesi has roughly equal Muslim and Christian populations.
Clearly, that large majority is trying out new and creative (read: Old and tried) ways to change the demograpics. It's all a devout Muslim can do.
Suicide bomber kills 24 at shrine heads the Times Online.
A SUICIDE bomber killed 24 people and injured more than 150 at a Shia Muslim shrine yesterday.
The bomber blew himself up in the Bari Imam shrine where thousands had gathered to pay homage to a 17th-century Sufi saint. Witnesses said that they saw the body of the bomber flying through the air after he detonated his explosives close to a podium where a sermon was being given on the last day of a five-day annual festival.
The shrine is near the official residence of Pakistan’s Prime Minister and diplomatic compounds in Islamabad.
Sufism is a mystical movement within Islam. Sunni and Shia Muslims revere Shah Abdul Latif Kazmi, Islamabad’s patron saint, but some conservative Sunni groups regard it as un-Islamic to celebrate him. Hundreds of people have been killed in sectarian attacks in the past year but this was the worst attack so far in the capital.
The bodies of most of the victims were so disfigured that they could not be identified.
I read the whole article twice. But I could not see what triggered the attack, let alone the reason. Unless it's this part: "...some conservative Sunni groups regard it as un-Islamic to celebrate [Shah Abdul Latif Kazmi, Islamabad’s patron saint]". But that can't be it. This is the Religion of Peace ™. Only thru oppression, torture, theft and desperation can otherwise peaceful Muslims get themselves to perform such acts of resistance. Right?
"I take great faith in not only his [Abbas'] personal character, but the fact that he campaigned on a platform of peace"
The fact that daily incitement through the PA controlled media and from every mosque continues unabated seems to make little difference to Bush.
"I know the President is committed to democracy... He's committed; that's what he said he was going to do and he's now fulfilling it."
The fact that this year alone (and it's still only May) 52 TEENAGE homicide bombers have been arrested, on their way to murder Jews, seems to make little impact on Bush's opinion.
"I don't think [Hamas is] going to get elected, because I think Palestinian moms want their children to grow up in peace just like American moms want their children to grow up in peace. As a matter of fact, I think the people that campaign for peace will win."
The fact that it's a foregone conclusion that Hamas will win the election hasn't yet reached Bush's ears. The fact that Hamas terrorists are being absorbed into the 'security' apparatus of the PA seems irrelevant to Bush. And 'I think Palestinian moms want their children to grow up in peace just like American moms want their children to grow up in peace' is a downright stupid thing to say.
And here comes the clincher:
"Any final status agreement must be reached between the two parties, and changes to the 1949 Armistice lines must be mutually agreed to. A viable two-state solution must ensure contiguity of the West Bank, and a state of scattered territories will not work. There must also be meaningful linkages between the West Bank and Gaza. This is the position of the United States today, it will be the position of the United States at the time of final status negotiations."
The 1949 Armistice lines. Between Jordan and the rest of the Arab attackers. When 'Palestinians' referred to all the people from the former mandate, and not to the artificial entity that Arafat came up with.
"changes to the 1949 Armistice lines must be mutually agreed to". This will NEVER happen, of course, because the Arabs want Israel to become SMALLER than it was in 1949, not larger. Don't underestimate what this means: If Israel left this decision up to Bush, Israel will be DEAD AND GONE. It is what Bush means.
Read the whole article. Please. And then explain to me why Bush seems suddenly intent on Israel's demise. Even taking political double-speak into consideration.
IDF soldiers arrested a 15-year-old Arab armed with a bomb at a checkpoint outside Shechem (Nablus) Tuesday. He was the 52nd Arab teen caught attempting to carry out a bomb attack this year.
Though the Palestinian Authority has promised to stop terrorism against Israel, a PA official had a response of a different nature to the bombs. PA information ministry director Ahmed Subh told the Iranian News Agency that the PA believes the child bombers were faked by Israel. "I am 100% sure that these incidents are fabricated from A to Z by the Shin Bet," he said. "We must note that these concocted stories… are meant to serve and justify the overall Israeli posture, especially the unmitigated theft of Palestinian land and Israel's refusal to take its troops and tanks from Palestinian towns."
But peace, under the guiding light of "two-face" Holocaust-denier Abbas is right around the corner.
If my opinion of Amnesty International is not sufficient for you, please check this at OpinionJournal:
"Gulag" is the Russian acronym made famous by Alexander Solzhenitsyn to describe the vast network of Soviet slave labor camps in which millions died. It is thus one more sign of the moral degradation of Amnesty International that the pressure group is now calling the U.S. detention facility for Taliban and al Qaeda suspects at Guantanamo Bay "the gulag of our time."
Moral degradation. Exactly the words I wish I had thought of. The column is short, but I'll quote this part anyway:
A "human rights" group that can't distinguish between Stalin's death camps [where millions died - Ed] and detention centers for terrorists who kill civilians can't be taken seriously.
So true. And how sad it is that in this world, millions look to this organization for the defense of human rights.
Another Enemy Of The Jews unmasked. I'm quite sure SHE thinks she's just being enlightened though:
Last month, Oprah’s “O” asked readers to understand “The Heart of a Destroyer,” Mohammed Atta. You remember him—the al-Qaeda ringleader of the 9/11 hijackers who murdered 3,000 Americans.
But that’s not exactly the way “O”’s “reading room” wants you to remember him.
Beneath a picture of young Mohammed and his smiling sister on the Egyptian beach, “O” exhorts you to read a book that “sets out to understand the hearts and minds of the men behind the photos” of the 9/11 hijackers, a group of “lonely, exiled young men.”
But the fatherless and motherless children who lost their parents to Atta—they are lonely, too.
The book, “O” tells us, “is a simultaneously passionate, compassionate, and dispassionate book that [doesn’t] indict Islam.” Just what we need—the CEO of the Oprah Book Club urging America’s women to have compassion for Mohammed Atta.
On a very abstract, philosophical level, I guess there's nothing wrong with trying to understand massmurderers, psychopathic killers and other forms of Muslim extremists. I studied psychology and philosophy for a while, and am as curious as the next guy to find out what drives these depraved creatures.
But I also have the images of large civilian airplanes crashing into the WTC imprinted on my retina as if it happened yesterday. It takes no effort at all to recall the memory of people jumping to their deaths, rather than face the fire.
I watched the Internet movie of Nick Berg's slaughter. Something I recommend to no one.
Oprah needs a sense of priority. I think she needs to climb down from Olympos.
But then it gets a bit ugly:
Oprah’s agenda isn’t new. Her unique understanding of Islamic terrorists is manifest in an episode on which a guest claimed Jews practice ritual sacrifices of babies. Oprah: “I want to make it clear that this is one Jewish person, so don’t go around now, saying to people, you know, ‘Those Jewish people, they’re worshipping....’ This is the first time I heard of any Jewish people sacrificing babies, but anyway – so you witnessed the sacrifice?”
Nice eh? Not so enlightened after all, I guess. All too ready to believe evil shit if it's Jews doing the slaughtering.
Oprah, you have not reached enlightenment. I know this by the disgusting pig in you, always struggling to come out. And now we know you're very selective about who you understand, and empathize with: The Enemy.
Ilana Mercer (a Clear Thinker ™) writes the following at FrontPageMag on why Putin doesn't 'deal' with Israel: He knows Israel is weak:
Israel was not always strategically insignificant. For a brief period after the Six-Day War, observes Arieh Stav, “Israel ceased to be a provisory state, which constituted a political liability and became a strategic asset, to use State Department parlance.” Compelled by their American handlers and their own failings, Israeli leaders have since abandoned the national interest—and with it the very principles of international law.
By returning land to the aggressors—the Sinai first—Israel violated Nullum crimen sine poena, the imperative in international law to punish the aggressor. It continued to breach this principle—and its own national self-preservation—by signing and honoring agreements (Oslo I and II) with a terrorist organization (the PLO).
I'm not that interested in what Putin does or doesn't do (with the exception of selling nuclear technology to Iran). But the motives Ilana Mercer ascribes to him are valid: Israel has consistently shown weakness in giving in to the demands of peoples and parties that have less than zero right to make any demands. Giving up land to people with the sworn, declared and sacred purpose of destroying you (land conquered in defensive wars) is stupid at the very least, and quite possibly fatal. And they've been doing it since '67. And it doesn't look like they're about to stop anytime soon.
Mercer makes an excellent point, albeit a very disconcerting one. Must read.
In Expatica this article on children fathered by 'foreigners' who subsequently kidnap them. No Brazilian men mentioned. No Swedes. No New Zealanders. Lots of Egyptians, Turks, Moroccans and Tunisians though. There must be a common link there somewhere... Oh and lots of men from the US, seems like a strange country among the others. Wonder what that means. Anyway,
Besides actual kidnappings, the foundation also said on Wednesday, the Day of Missing Children, some 391 attempted or threatened kidnappings were reported in the past four years. Some 67 of these involved Egyptians.
A foundation spokesman said Egyptian fathers often have a pre-mediated plan and women simply accept what happens.
"They [the men] come to the Netherlands, marry and have a child. If they have a residence permit, they send the child back to Egypt because they think it has a better future there," he said.
Much better. Anywhere's better than here. That's why they go through so much trouble to get a residence permit in the first place. That's why all the Muslims are leaving for richer grounds, like Afghanistan and Morocco! NOT!
Nuclear talks between the European Union (EU) and Iran seem headed for failure as the Islamic republic is using the parleys to buy time while it secretly pursues a nuclear programme, a British think tank has said.
I am stunned.
And the world's going to let these sociopathic barbarians develop nuclear weapons. I hope Israel will use their new toys on the Mad Mullahs.
Koran is an Arabic word. It is pronounced exactly like I just spelt it. Why use a Q? Why all these fancy phonetic representations that make no sense and can't be pronounced?
Amazon was involved in another Koran 'desecration'. Read more here. At the bottom of that entry I posted the e-mail I sent them. Here's their reply:
Thank you very much for writing to us about this sensitive issue.
Amazon.com does not tolerate discrimination of any kind, and we share the distress and deep concern that the Muslim Public Affairs Council has expressed about the report concerning the used book purchased from one of our third-party merchants. As soon as we learned about the defaced product, Amazon.com immediately apologized to the customer and contacted the seller to investigate the incident and ensure they take steps to prevent this from happening again.
The altered book was purchased in used condition from a third-party bookseller through Amazon’s Marketplace. As you may know, Amazon.com provides a platform where third-party sellers can offer new and used books for sale alongside new books offered by Amazon. Products purchased from a third-party seller are fulfilled directly by the seller, not Amazon.com. In this case, the seller has listed its products on Amazon.com for over a year, and has received a 4.9 “star rating” (on a scale of 1 to 5) from thousands of Amazon customers.
In this case, the seller was not able to determine when the product was altered, and it appears likely the book was defaced before it ever reached the seller’s inventory. At our request, the seller is instituting more stringent quality control over its incoming stock. Also, Amazon.com has suspended the seller from listing any copies of the Qur’an on our site for the indefinite future, though they are free to sell all other books.
As a bookseller, we believe that offering customers open access to written speech is one of the most important things we do. We place the utmost value on providing customers the ability to partake of any and all viewpoints and ideas freely, without scrutiny or judgment by others. We know firsthand that the ability to share ideas can foster greater understanding among and between people of all faiths and religions.
Thank you for your comments. It is always important for us to hear how customers react to all aspects of shopping at Amazon.com.
Sincerely,
They have not read a word I wrote. And what's worse, they AUTOMATICALLY ASSUMED I WROTE BECAUSE I WAS OFFENDED AT THE ALLEDGED 'DESECRATION'.
Amazon is on full auto-pilot Muslim appeasement mode.
Here's what I wrote back:
> Thank you very much for writing to us about this sensitive issue. >
Thank you for your AUTOMATED response. You clearly have not read my e-mail, because your response to it shows the action you feel you must take is the exact OPPOSITE of what I would have preferred. I shall cease purchasing books from Amazon from now on, and advise everyone I know to do likewise.
Susan Sontag cleared her throat for the "courage" of the al Qaeda pilots. Norman Mailer pronounced the dead of Sept. 11 comparable to "automobile statistics." The events of that day were likely premeditated by the White House, Gore Vidal insinuated. Noam Chomsky insisted that al Qaeda at its most atrocious generated no terror greater than American foreign policy on a mediocre day.
At FrontPageMag, Keith Thompson tells of his voyage from Left to Normalcy. Like David Horowitz himself, once a true believer, now sane. I can't believe the insanities he's had to endure, or that it took him so long, but better late than never. Listen to this:
In the name of "diversity," the University of Arizona has forbidden discrimination based on "individual style." The University of Connecticut has banned "inappropriately directed laughter." Brown University, sensing unacceptable gray areas, warns that harassment "may be intentional or unintentional and still constitute harassment." (Yes, we're talking "subconscious harassment" here. We're watching your thoughts ...).
Apart from supporting all the wrong parties and people, why is the Left so ANTI liberal (liberal in the real sense of the word: Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded)?
If you're going to read anything this week, read "SANCTUARY". I've linked to Bill Whittle before, his "DETERRENCE" and "STRENGTH" are rare pieces of jewelry. And he's done it again. It's long, but far too short for me. Just a taste:
These religious fanatics, who will form a mob and tear a person limb from limb if he (or especially she) so much as looks askance at a copy of the Quran, routinely and methodically have used mosques – even their most sacred mosques – as ammunition dumps, staging areas and firing positions, viewing our decency and restraint as foolishness and weakness.
These acts have been recorded so many times that it has become banal. It’s just a fact. It’s what they do.
If they had genuine respect for their own religions and holy places they would give them the widest berth available, not turn them into command bunkers, ambush sites and staging areas.
Here is a violation of Sanctuary written as plainly as the eye can see. They use safe havens -- hospitals, hotels and places of worship -- as military fortresses because they are counting on our decency and honor to spare them from retaliation.
I don't like to use superlatives. But Bill Whittle merits them. Go read it all.
I don't like Amnesty International. Here's why. And here. And here.
There are people in my life however that think Amnesty is a great idea. People that feel much the same way I do about Israel.
But if you love Israel, you cannot but loathe Amnesty. Why? Well, apart from the examples above, there's the academic boycott against Israel by the AUT (= Association of University Teachers) in the UK. Officially a union for university teachers, they are in effect a left wing activist organization. The AUT involves itself directly in many Amnesty campaigns, regards itself as a 100% backer of AI, and the AUT is also deeply involved in the TAN (= Teachers and Academics Network), an integral part of Amnesty.
If you're a Jew, or a supporter of Israel, but you also support Amnesty, you have some strange bedfellows, ones I can't imagine you can tolerate.
Meanwhile, not a word from Amnesty about the very REAL plight of women in EVERY country in the middle-East BUT Israel. For some real depressing news on how bad it can really get for women on this planet, go here. Don't go to Amnesty. All you'll find there are reports that contain blanket statements:
Amnesty International UK Director Kate Allen said:
"Palestinian women's suffering has been two-fold: they have borne the brunt of conflict and decades of Israeli occupation and in Palestinian society they are also denied full rights and protection.
"Israel's military machine has chewed up Palestinian women for far too long, while the Palestinians in their turn must now rise to the challenge of properly protecting women's rights."
Chewed up? What is that? Don't have a specific accusation, so we'll come up with "They're making mothers, sisters and wifes of Jew mass murderers stand in line at roadblocks longer than is theoretically necessary"? And check this one (I'm not making this up!):
Additionally, Palestinian women and girls at risk of being killed by their families have often been unable to escape to safety because of blockades and restrictions imposed by the Israeli army.
It is Israel's fault that 'Palestinian' women get honor-killed, because they can't flee from their fathers, brothers and husbands. Of course, where were they going to flee? Well, where else of course but TO JEW-CONTROLLED TERRITORY! WHERE THEY'D BE SAFE! If 'Palestinian' women hadn't faked emergencies a number of times, subsequently exploding themselves at the best opportunity, perhaps IDF personel would still treat them the way Amnesty would like. The Arabs made that impossible, not the Israeli's.
Amnesty does not state anywhere in its charter: "Israel must be destroyed". And Amnesty was not founded with such an idea present. But these days, many if not all of Amnesty's supporters feel that way, consciously or not. If Amnesty were solely about human rights, then I never would have written this e-mail to an Amnesty supporter:
Hi J,
Recently came across this article. It's about N-Korea experimenting with gassing people. It's almost too horrible to read, but the people making the claims are serious and credible. There are links to other, similar articles about N-Korea as well.
So I thought back to our discussion about organizations like Amnesty, went to their site. Abu Ghraib (where no one ever died since the US took over) takes the headlines. Other HR offenses, perpetrated by the US or the pro-US government, or by Israel take up half the page. Israeli settler violence must stop. And Israel must stop killing 'Palestinian' women: "Women are paying a high price in the ongoing conflict. Among the thousands of deaths, hundreds of women have been killed by Palestinian armed groups and by Israeli forces."
So I checked when (if ever) Amnesty paid attention to the situation in N-Korea. Last time was last november, article about a family in fear of torture for leaving the country illegally. Last time before that: Half a year earlier. Hundreds of thousands of people live in Korean Gulags, thousands die every year because of attrition. But Abu Ghraib, where Muslims where HUMILIATED has hardly left the frontpage in the whole year since the 'scandal' became public.
I like the analogy of the star thrower. But Amnesty (and Human Rights Watch is 10x worse) is a star thrower that in its efforts to save a starfish steps on hundreds of crabs and baby turtles.
Amnesty is bad news.
And I feel like that more than ever, now that more and more Israel-haters join the ranks of Amnesty supporters.
Calls for Israel's destruction in London heads the Jeruzalem Post, and it is no exaggeration. Good thing about democracy, such as the UK (still) has: The filth is not afraid to show itself. The downside: There's a legal obligation to treat that filth as human. But filth it remains.
A central London rally organized by the British Palestine Solidarity Campaign on Saturday heard Respect Party MP George Galloway advocate a general boycott of Israel, as well as other speeches calling for Israel's destruction.
Respect Party. Oh, the irony! And what satisfaction must you get from an audience who cries "Allah Akhbar" to your
"Israel is a racist state! It is an apartheid state! With its Apache helicopters and its F-16 fighter jets! The South African apartheid state never inflicted the sort of repression that Israel is inflicting on the Palestinians," [Andrew Birgin, of the Stop the War Coalition - Ed] said to loud applause. "When there is real democracy, there will be no more Israel!"
Am I so far gone to think that these 'people' consider themselves at war with Israel, with the Jews? (Although they would probably deny the latter). Then George Galloway speaks. The UK Labour party has spawned a disproportionately large number of insane Jewhaters, but Galloway ranks among the top one percent. He is corrupt to the core, biased beyond belief by his marriage to a Jordanian woman who may well be closely related to Yasser Arafat and has demonstrable links with terrorists as well as Hussein himself. But he thinks:
"It's about time that the British government made some reparations for the Balfour declaration," said Galloway. "Instead, Tony Blair said that Israel has no better friend than the British government. We say to Mr. Blair: You should be ashamed by that.
"The Palestinian people are like the 300 Spartans holding the pass of Thermopylae, until the others can arrive and come to their side. We will join them, by boycotting Israel. By boycotting Israeli goods. By picketing the stores that are selling Israeli goods," he said to cheers and applause.
I think the comparison with Thermopylae is apt. He just got the sides wrong: The Greeks under Leonidas were responsible for saving all of Europe from invasion by the Persians. If it were up to Galloway, 2500 years later the Persians would succeed where they failed at Thermopylae.
It is Israel that forms an as yet insurmountable obstacle to the Islamic conquest of the West. Israel is Thermopylae. The Jews that live there are the Chosen 300.
And Galloway, and all those like him should be shot for the traitorous fifth columnists that they are.
An official Palestinian Authority information website directly affiliated with President Mahmoud Abbas has published on its Arabic language section a copy of the ''Protocols of the Elders of Zion,'' a classic anti-Semitic forgery, while the English section does not contain the work, WND has learned.
The name Kenneth L. Woodward rings a bell somehow, but I can't quite place it. Anyway. Here's a moron (over at OpinionJournal) who tries to make us understand, see how the Muslim world can become so outraged over the 'desecrations'. Listen to this drivel:
The Quran is not "the Bible" of Muslims. It is infinitely more sacred than that. To use a Jewish analogy, it is more like the oral Torah first revealed on Mount Sinai, which was later passed on orally through the prophets and eventually written down on scrolls for all to read. Whereas Christians regard the Bible as written by human beings inspired by God, Muslims regard the Quran--the word means "The Recitation"--as the very words of God, revealed aurally to the Prophet Muhammad in Arabic. To hear those words recited is, for Muslims, to hear Allah. If, for Christians, Jesus is the logos or eternal Word of God made flesh, the Quran is the Word of God made book, and every Arabic syllable in it lives as the breath of the divine.
In short, what Christ is for Christians the Quran (in Arabic) is for Muslims: the living Word of God made present in this world. Moreover, to recite the suras or verses of the Quran, as devout Muslims do, is to breathe in the very words of Allah. Thus, recitation of the Quran is for Muslims much like what receiving the Eucharist is for Catholics--a very intimate ingestion of the divine itself. This, then, according to Newsweek's story--now retracted and "regretted" by the magazine's editor--is what some interrogators flushed down a toilet at Guantanamo Bay.
Gee, I can certainly understand how that would cause me to go kill and maim hundreds, if I heard they did that to MY favourite bedtime reading!
But it's a lie. From a sycophant for Islam. Here's what an actual Muslim, from Saudi no less, has to say about what the devoutest Muslims of them all do with the Koran when it suits them:
The Saudi government does not even spare the Quran from desecration. On Oct. 14, 2004, dozens of Saudi men and women carried copies of the Quran as they protested in support of reformers in the capital, Riyadh. Although they carried the Qurans in part to protect themselves from assault by police, they were charged by hundreds of riot police, who stepped on the books with their shoes, according to one of the protesters.
Ironically this was also reported at OpinionJournal.com.
Muslims WANT to be outraged at infidels. ANY excuse will do. On the other hand, if it suits them, they'll happily step on the Koran themselves.
And morons like this Woodward, who fawns over Islam, would have you believe that the excesses committed as a result of these 'desecrations' are perfectly understandable, legitimate even (He certainly does not condemn them in his article). They are not, they aren't even understandable, except for the barbarians themselves.
We search the purses of little old ladies so that recent immigrants from Saudi Arabia named "Mohammed" wearing massive backpacks don't get singled out.
